Sustainable Urban Farming
Changemaker shall establishing urban farms as a space for students to learn about gardening and participate in fruit and vegetable cultivation. Ideally, the fruits and vegetables would be used during school lunches or snacks to help increase the fruit and vegetable consumption among the students. Changemaker shall build on existing knowledge from preceding projects and Changemaker local team experts to help select the most nutritious and climate appropriate crops. In the approach, each school may generate a composting system to help have sustainable urban gardening practice, reduce greenhouse gases, and have access to nutrient rich soil. Changemaker will encourage the students to take these practices of urban gardening into the homes or community gardens.
